Plaster & mixed media. This piece was created on a defected (but sturdy) canvas. Instead of wasting the canvas, Sarah was inspired by it to create a depiction of a divide. She began to see faces in the plaster and worked with its already molded terrain. In the end, she created an image of a strong woman, who grew from a place of brokenness and looks back with fondness and light on those who tried to keep her small. She rises above them and still tries to inspire with her light. Unintentionally, the light (yellow) took shape of the USA as an admirer pointed out. This is a timely piece, created in 2025 while the USA is facing a great divide, which Sarah believes to be the true threat of today’s current climate. Click here to show more about this journey.
